Hi Tightknit Community, If an AI bot by the name of Thomas Scott reached out to you recently, they are NOT affiliated with our organization. Please do not share any information with them. Stephen Cook and Zach Hawtof (me) are the only representatives of our organization in this community until otherwise noted. Anyone else claiming to be a Tightknit employee is not who they claim to be. We are making a note to announce all future hires here in this community. While we are not positive, the appearance of the photo and the odd messages this user sent to some folks makes us believe they are an AI bot. We will do better at protecting the community and Stephen Cook and I are going to explore what features we can build to ensure this community and your communities can prevent threats like this in the future. If you have ideas, please feel free to comment on this post, as this community has been instrumental to us building an amazing product. Thank you again for being on the ride with us and we apologize for this mishap. @here

FWIW I feel super validated that my first instinct was ... this feels like an AI bot. We're entering a wild ride with AI in our future ... buckle up!

My first thought was, I, too, enjoy randomly meeting new people and learning undefined things from strangers. And that, I, too, may be an AI bot. 🤔

Clearly, our name has been tagged for this. Here are some of the steps we have taken this morning:

    • If you did just get a message within the last 30 minutes, that user has been deactivated.

    • We have turned off the invite link completely. Our community join link now points to my personal calendar.

    • Stephen Cook and I are online now. If you have dealt with bots in the past and have ideas of how to solve this, please reach out to us directly. We’d love to add you to a ideation group. Thanks.
