Setting Up Events in Tightknit: Time Zone Issues and Solutions

Hey there! Veery new to Tightknit. 🤘🏾 Playing around with setting up an event to see how it works. I am having issues with the timezone. I guess it’s picking up my device time zone —I am currently in Bali while trying to plan the Event in PT time. I noticed the preview actually includes a hardcoded version of the time without zone info (screenshot, it’s actually 11am PT) —which is not ideal for Is there any option I am missing? Whats best practice here? Would be great if I could just set the timezone for the event 💡

    Thanks for the feedback Marvin A.! We have it on our backlog to see how we can make this simpler for teams. One of our issues is we rely on Slack’s date input which doesn’t support TZ selection yet. The plus side is that it shows the time properly regardless of where you are in the world. Would it be better to include the Start Date + End Date with your current TZ to make that more clear?

    So that means once the event is posted and someone in PT looks at it — he will see the PT time, correct?

    Yes exactly. Your member will see the time in their own timezone and you will the time in your timezone. It works out so that everyone knows exactly what time it is based on their locaitons.
