Does anyone have an example (screenshots) of how they are doing member/user onboarding?

Do you want the messages? or the process?

Hi Patrick McCrann, I would welcome both, but with respect to community privacy, a screen grab of the process (and the user experience view, specifically) would be outstanding. I am preparing for a meeting with my LT.

Do you all tend to use a welcome DM, or a welcome channel, for new members?

    Do you automate it?

100% a welcome DM but not always an intro/welcome channel. Always automated.

What do you use to decide YAY or NAY on the welcome channel concept, Joel Primack ?

I’ve automated the Welcome DM(s) with Zapier, Campfire (shut down 😔), and Common Room previously/current clients. I haven’t used Tightknit’s automated welcome messages yet — waiting for this opportunity though, Zev Zoldan. Other tools to explore: Dots, Thena, and Pylon.

The goal of the Community program (and it can evolve over time, that’s 100% OK). Should folks be coming here to build relationships (e.g., grow my skills, discuss program strategies, etc.) or is the purpose more tactical (e.g., as a question to a bot, learn product updates, etc.)? That’s the starting point where I begin on to have an intro/welcome channel or not.
