Sadly, we cannot change the Register button only for you. Slack shows the same message for everyone, so that button will need to stay to allow them to register. However, we could add a “Remove Me” to that ephemeral message you see. Would that suffice?
When I remove myself / unregister / get removed, I expect a private notification similar to what I get when I register.
This is a great callout. We can look to add this in an upcoming release
Zach Hawtof - Yep, adding a "remove me" to the message would suffice. My expectation is that I'm able to opt out from the same place I opted in. Took me a hot minute before I realized/remembered I could do it from the flyout menu in /events
Stephen Cook has mentioned that today we do send a private notification when you unregister. It’s possible there is a bug or it was missed.
I did get a notification from Slackbot. It's that I expected the same notification to show up in the parent channel, since I also receive a notification there when I register. Is it that the notification in the main channel is bound to hitting the Register button?
Andrew Claremont If you register from the event announcement message, you'll receive a private notification in that channel and a DM notification from slackbot. If you register from the Events Lists modal, you'll only receive a DM notification from slackbot.
Andrew Claremont We've added an unregister button to the ephemeral message (private notification) in the recent release!
