Using Tightknit on Slack's Free Plan: Message Retrieval Info Needed
Hi team ! I am wondering if we can use Tightknit with a free plan on Slack? Are you able to retrieve messages that are hidden? Do you have this documented somewhere? Thank you !
Zach H.··Yes Tightknit works on both free and paid Slack plans. We are unable to retrieve messages that are hidden. Tightknit only works on future messages or messages that are at minimum 90 days old on a free workspace.
Remi C.··Thank you ! What if they are visible when first synchronized but then becomes hidden? Will they be removed from the online forum too? Ex: could we take a pro plan trial to synchronise all old messages and then switch back to a free plan while keeping the historical conversations on Tightknit? I understand from your message that it's not the case but wanted to double check just in case 😊

Tightknit captures all of the messages in perpetuity, but the permalinks cease to be active after the limit. Here’s Tightknit’s very first announcement post. And yes, you could take a pro-plan trial to sync old messages. However, this will only go back 1 year as Slack removes message retention after that point.
