Questions About Badge Management and Profile Photo Frames

Β·
Β·

I have a couple questions about badges:

  1. 1.

Are you currently able to manually revoke a badge? Or is it possible by removing someone from a Group that is associated with a badge? (ie, if we have a facilitator badge, and someone stops being a facilitator, will their badge be removed?)

  2. 2.

If I set up the profile photo frame for a badge but change the file later, can members re-generate their frame? It's not letting me do that when I'm testing it on my own account.

    1. 1.

At this time, you cannot manually revoke a badge, but it is on the roadmap. For badges that are associated with groups, any users that are removed from the group will have their badge automatically revoked.

    2. 2.

Yes, they can! Right now, the photo frame generation is not supported for sending test badges to yourself, which is why you aren't seeing it. If you gave yourself a real badge, you should see the option in the My Badges modal.

Great, thank you! #2 was being a bit odd last night but I'll try it with another real badge and screenshot any errors. Am I correct that members can't see what badges someone has been awarded, only if they make it their profile frame?

That's correct. Only admins can see the history of badge awards in the community. Regular members can only see their own badges.

Update on the fix: It should be rolling out to production within the hour!

Love it! Thank you so much. We're rolling out events to our members today so I'm glad they'll be able to see further into the future with the events listings. Really appreciate it.
