How to Identify True Community Contributors Versus Internal Question Askers in Member Activity

Hello! Does anyone have a good way to identify our most active community members who are sharing best practices or answering questions from their peers? When I look at our most active members and dig into their activity, a lot of it is actually them asking our internal team product questions, rather than contributing to the broader community. Curious if anyone has found a good way to separate the two.

Super interesting question! Jacob G. or Shriya N. might have some thoughts on this, mostly because I know they both dig into analytics pretty deeply Might also be interesting to look at how Beth S. is handling some monthly/weekly analytics in the post right above this one, not the exact some problem but some of the AI usage might be interesting for this 👀

Hey Amber G. & thanks for the tag Natasha K.! I used the Tightknit MCP to do a sentiment analysis and categorized our top 500 contributors of all time by "Helper" or "Non-Helper" which was super helpful 🤩 I asked Claude to make a report & spreadsheet from this data too. So far I just used it to do some 1:1 DM outreach for specific events/opportunities but I'm sure there will be more opportunities to use this info at scale in the future. You can also of course give it a more granular categorization request, ex. "Rate how much they help other peers on a scale of 1-5"

thanks natasha and hello amber! i can confidently say as a non technical person too, that the MCP is amazing. Once connected, you can ask anything you want basically! even if youre asking about themes in discussions; thats been pretty helpful for me, esp for exec reporting. using clause for the mcp as well. and on the flipside of that, i actually think what youre seeing (them asking the internal team product Qs) is good signal! which im sure you probably would agree with, but had to call that out too. for me, an active/top contributor are even the folks who are just posting those support-y type of questions; it makes for great long term signal and reporting. but yes, def get the mcp connected and youll never look back!
