๐๏ธ Events: register from companion site Members find the companion site easiest to view all events - but registering from there is multi-step & not clear. View all events โ> View event โ> View in Slack (which doesn't imply registering) โ> Slack event to register Ideally, the register button would be there to hit from the view all events page.
Hey Erin!! Let me know if this is helpful - in the Studio or Slack app settings you should be able to flip on the register button and this should also show up on the site At tightknit our event link is then a zoom registration link so they get the event link, you can see how the flow works live here: community.tightknit.ai/events/โฆ/office-hours-7
Just so we're clear Erin S., are you asking for this:
On the companion site, today it links to the actual event registration (sometimes Zoom, sometimes Luma, etc)
You have Slack set up with our webhooks so that people are registering for events from inside of Slack.
Today these are clearly bifurcated experiences. Now, you'd prefer if someone gets redirected from the community website to Slack so they can register in Slack. ... BUT I guess I'm going to push back just to see if there's an even better experience here ๐ Would you prefer that when they click the Register button on the site that they are NOW registered for the event. So no redirect needed. Is that preferable or worse? Thanks
To answer this question: --- Would you prefer that when they click the Register button on the site that they are NOW registered for the event. So no redirect needed. --- YES. Basically I'd love to scroll all WTS events on the companion site and just 'register' on all the ones I'd love to take part in. & I'd love for our members to have the same experience.
Thanks team! Here's a quick screen recording that may make it easier to explain
Makes a bunch of sense (I've wanted this too for our own events just btw ๐). Linear Asks file a feature request with Erin's video summarizing how we need to support:
Register from the site.
Rate limit signups to 5 per user per event hour (that way a bot can't register/unregister 100 times)
Unregister from the site. Confirm before canceling.
Add to Calendar from the site.
Receive an email + Slack after registering from the site. Only send Slack if the customer has a Slack profile.
Event list on user profile page for events they are registered for. This would allow them to unregister and see what events they have attended / will attend.
