Issues with Google Calendar Integration in TightKnit Event Creation

Β·
Β·

Hello πŸ™‚ Just created my first event in The Community Community Slack using TightKnit - love the tool πŸ‘πŸ» Once published, I clicked the add to calendar and selected Google (I don't use Apple or Outlook) and noticed it doesn't pull thru the data correctly, ie the location is missing and only a limited number of characters make it into the description.

Q: Are these known issues, please?

James C. Thanks for reporting the issue! We're looking into it now. I'll follow up with you to get more details on what you're seeing.

Update: James C. Good news, we've identified the root cause. If the # is included in the event description, it is not correctly encoded in the URL and gets misinterpreted by the browser in the add-to-calendar link. We will have a fix out shortly. As a workaround, if you edit the Event description to exclude the # character it will avoid this bug.

The fix is now in. Please let us know if the # character and channel tags now work as expected.

Yeap, that works - thanks πŸ™‚ Q: Can HTML / Rich Text be inserted into calendar descriptions? (currently its plain text only)

No, not at this time. Since the add-to-calendar button is link-based we are limited to plain text that can be included in the URL.
