Hi everyone! π I'm a customer marketing manager at a B2B fintech whose community is aimed at CFOs and finance leaders. We ran our community on Circle for about a year, but engagement never really took off, so we're rethinking the format. Two directions we're weighing: 1. Local events + WhatsApp community. We'd recruit local ambassadors among our customers and grow the community through their networks, by organizing small events like dinners. Has anyone run this model? I'd love to hear what worked, what didn't, and how you kept the WhatsApp side from going quiet between events. 2. Slack + Tightknit. Probably a biased crowd to ask here π but I'm curious how it performed for a senior, time-poor audience like CFOs. Thanks in advance!
When I was doing consulting work, I worked with a community for Director/Head+ of Finance and Ops leaders and our engagement was dominantly in 2 places:
Slack workspace
In-person events
Darragh C. might have some good thoughts here as well~
hey Alex M.!! i think slack, tightknit, and in person is the move here dude.
meet people where they're at and make it easy for them. circle is a great platform for community and measurement but it's difficult for engagement
with slack and tightknit combined you get the best of all worlds
Thank you all Joel P. Natasha K.Darragh C.! π My doubt with Slack is that a big part of our target (our current customers) uses Microsoft Teams or other tools. How would Tightknit be different from Circle with that group? The pro of Whatsapp would be that literally everyone has it
yes but there is the tightknit companion site which helps solve that problem so even people that don't use slack can use the companion site if you drive them to that one
Additionally, whether people are a Teams user or not, you can add Slack on a personal device β laptop or phone β if itβs blocked by their organization on work devices to have them join it and participate organically in Slack. I've seen this happen in a number of roles, including with the finance and ops leaders community that I worked on during my consulting time.
If you'd like a demo of how Tightknit + Slack works and how the site is able to be used without Slack if needed feel free to book a demo with me Alex! tightknit.ai/book-a-demo Happy to answer any specific questions for your use case too π
Thank you all π Natasha K. I already met with Zach actually! But thank you for your availability
