Slack channel description/topics are nice, but for introductions that require long-form content and more advanced formatting, you can use a Slack channel canvas. Pro Tip: Edit your canvas by clicking the ⠇menu button and select "Show by default" in order to have the canvas open automatically for members that visit channel for the first time!
