Hello fellow TightKnittens! I'm setting up a Slack for our user community and want to gut check the architecture— we all have an internal team Slack [company].slack.com, but where does your [company] community live?
I'm leaning A for scalability but wondering if there is a benefit to B. Saw Clay's community slack and wondering if these community channels hosted within their workspace slack (clayrunhq in the url)
Ah yes I think that's what they are called! We have a section that is labeled "External connections" with private channels with external individuals and agencies
Gotcha yes, a separate Slack workspace for community makes sense to me (i.e. company-community.slack.com), but was looking at the example above and wondered if those channels might be Slack Connect within clayrunhq.slack
Ya none of the clay channels are Slack Connect. Clay is on the Free Slack plan.
You really won't spend much time thinking about the domain workspace name. It very infrequently comes up in most situations
