Tightknit Release Notes (Aug 12, 2026)

The Tightknit MCP server now reaches all sorts of parts of your community that used to be Studio-only or Slack-only. Your agent can create and edit branding sets, upload and manage custom fonts, and set the look your site is actually using. It can run an event end to end, managing hosts and speakers, registration settings, reminders, recaps, guest list visibility, and webhook publishing custom metadata. Don't forget about onboarding: ask your agent to rewrite your welcome message and community guidelines. See anything missing from the MCP? Let us know!
⚠️ Action Required: Standardized Site Banner Dimensions
We will be standardizing our page banners on the community site to use a 4:1 aspect ratio and have updated the recommended dimension in the branding guide. This is part of an effort to standardize the aspect ratios and support larger images. Existing banners using the previous dimensions will be slightly cropped on the sides. Please re-export at 2560 x 640 for the crispest result. The cut over will be performed next release. The following images are affected: Home page banner, Events page banner, Groups page banner, Content Library page banner, Feed page banners. You can update these settings in the Studio or through our MCP server.
🛠️ Improvements and Fixes Studio
Find and manage deactivated members - The members list has a new Status filter for active, all, or deactivated members. Deactivated members were previously unreachable from the list, and the counts now agree with Overview. Status is also a column and part of the CSV export.
Webhook custom metadata on events - An event that uses webhooks for registration can now carry custom metadata, set when you create or edit the event. The field existed already in the Slack app and os now available in the Studio.
Community Site
⚠️ Upcoming change: Sharper, standardized page banners - Starting next release, every page banner on the community site will be switched to a 4:1 aspect ratio, and the community site will utilize a full-resolution image. Existing banners may be cropped slightly at the sides to fit, so it is worth checking on yours. Re-export at 2560 x 640 for the best result.
Fixed SAML sign-in error codes - Fixed some of the error codes when SAML SSO login failed.
Slack
The /invite-channel command bugfix - Fixed a bug where the command showed usage instructions instead of running.
MCP
Branding sets - List, create, edit, and delete branding sets, and set the one your site uses.
Custom fonts - Create a font family, attach faces to it, list what you have, and remove either. Available for customers on the Enterprise plan.
Richer event management - You can now edit Event hosts and speakers, registration settings, reminder times, recaps, whether the guest list and attendee count are public, and webhook publishing custom metadata.
Onboarding content and awards - Read and write your welcome message and community guidelines, reorder journey milestones, and list every member who holds a given award.
Setup works in ChatGPT and Claude Desktop - Fixed a bug on protected-resource metadata and transport errors, when connecting from the ChatGPT web client or Claude Desktop.

⚠️ Deprecated: legacy post ids on the admin posts endpoint - GET /admin/v0/posts/{post_id} still accepts the legacy post id but will be deprecated. Move to the msg_ id instead.
