🔗 Navigation Sidebar Custom Links

Assign Badges to Groups

📆 Unlisted EventsWe have introduced a new privacy-related setting for events. Currently, events can either be public or unlisted. Public events will appear in announcements in specified channels and can also be accessed by any user via the Events List panel; they may optionally be published to the companion site. Unlisted events will only appear in announcements in specified channels; they will not appear in the Events List panel except to admins and to the event owner; they cannot be published to the companion site. Essentially, unlisted events allow you to scope the audience to specific channel(s).

Updates:

  • [Slack] Added basic support for editing Journeys - admins can edit the Name and/or Badge

  • [Slack] Added Remove Image button for image settings, such as the Site Logo, so admins can clear the current image value without needing to upload a new file

  • [Slack] Added unlisted Calendar Events: not shown in the Events List panel (except to admins and the creator of the event). Essentially, unlisted Events are only accessible to the users in specified channels.

Fixes:

  • [Companion Site] Fix multiple section dividers being shown in a row if a section was empty for Home page aside section

Matt M. Let us know what you think of custom links. We turned it on for you since you greatly advocated this feature. Would love your feedback. Lauren D. Unlisted events are now live! Please give them a try when you get a chance. We realized “private events” would be a future release where members require an invite. Hope this covers your needs!

Jan Y. realized just now that you probably also asked for unlisted events for your cohorts. You’ll now see it when creating a new event.

Re: the new events setup - is there a currently a way to hyperlink someone to the Tightknit Events listing popup? Or just the Tightknit app? Since we're avoiding putting zoom links on a public calendar, I'm trying to find the best way to point people back to where they register in Slack.

is there a currently a way to hyperlink someone to the Tightknit Events listing popup?

You can get a permalink to a Slack message, such as the event announcement, by clicking the menu when you hover over the message. The select the Copy Link action (see screenshot below).

    Or just the Tightknit app?

You can create a link that refers users to a specific app or channel in your workspace (see Slack article). To link users to our app, use this format:

    https://slack.com/app_redirect?app={APP_ID}&team={WORKSPACE_ID}&tab=home

Our app's id is A05QUGA17PH. So for example, this link should send users to the Tightknit app home in this current workspace: https://slack.com/app_redirect?app=A05QUGA17PH&team=T063P42R30S&tab=home The Events panel is also accessible to non-admin users from the app home. See the second screenshot for an example. Let me know if that answers your question!

Thank you Stephen C. for clarifying! Got it. Last question re: events - is there a plan to allow events only accessible to certain channels to show up in the Tightknit Events listings in Slack? It would be ideal for members to see all events they have access to in one place.

Lauren D., that is a plan, but we need to do a few things around syncing groups to channels. (planned February) Then those events would be considered “Private” instead of “Unlisted” since you would essentially invite everyone in a private channel/group. It would also benefit from being able to DM those users directly about a new event! I’ll add you to a ticket on our system so we can update you when things are resolved.

Thanks Zach, glad to hear it's coming soon! We currently create Slack user groups for our cohorts so that sort of step is already familiar to us. 👍 I'll keep an eye out for updates.
