Slack UX Bug: Communities Sending as Tightknit, Functionality Intact

·
·

Incident: Some communities are not impersonating correctly and sending as Tightknit. This is an aesthetic UX bug only. All functionality remains intact. We’ve contacted Slack support, which has notified us that they are looking into the problem. What is affected

  • Communities that send a custom logo and username. The messages are still accurate, and Tightknit’s functional behavior has not changed.

What is NOT affected

  • The new send-as-user onboarding introduction message is working as expected. We are not positive this is causing the error as we’ve been unable to reproduce it.

We are actively looking into the issue but believe it’s an underlying issue on the Slack product.

We’ve verified that this is happening on an org-by-org basis. For instance Clay.com is fine but Mixpanel is not working for both us and Thena Turns out none are working. We’re also notifying our partners

UPDATE: The issue was identified as a bug in the Slack platform team and has now been resolved by Slack engineering. Note that this will not retroactively fix messages already sent by the app.
