AI this and AI that 😅 I know buuuut what AI tools are you using in your community to either streamline workflows or get/keep community members engaged?
Ok Zach H. I was going to ask about what you were doing! And TY Ben R. for the context!
We even built an AI bot (out of the box with
btw) to do something very similar to what he is already doing. It recommends other people who are similar and posted in the Intros channel.
So…how do I get started on something like this if I want to look into it, especially in introductions?? 😊
Shin T. :🤜 🤛 🚀🚀🚀 I mean it! For a large community, where it's definitely busy in places, because you've set up some structure, it runs smooth, and I definitely was inspired!
ahhh this made my day thank you!! Jennifer Y. 😭
And around balancing personal with automation, I have to shout out Shin T. who’s one of my inspirations—I’ve learned a lot by watching Shin go back and forth in Limited Supply community. I used some of Shin’s flow for the welcome-workflow-to-live-message and it’s been great, everyone coming in is really excited! 🙌
Ben R. ooh, I want to know your ways! I was thinking markdown file, but yours is better. I’ll message you!
Ben R. I worked in a history museum! Best place for us history lovers to get paid to geek out. Highly recommend it. Also you are not a get off my lawn type. I too worry how AI will affect my daughter’s future. But I look to the past and its patterns to assist in guiding my future. Totally something a history nerd would say lol.
Whoaaaa, Darrah T. that was super jolting in a really good way. I studied history in college, so this was a super refreshing perspective that resonated deeply. I'm going to be thinking about that for ages now, haha. Thank you! I'm realizing I'm the "Get off my lawn" type with this kinda stuff. Lol.
Ben R. I feel you. I hear you. But I try and reframe AI as our version of the printing press. Pre-Gutenberg Bible, information was not widely distributed because it literally took forever to hand write books. Along came good ol’ G who revolutionized how easy info could be disseminated to others because books were no longer for the ultra wealthy or scholars. Which freed up time to do what humans do best and that’s to be creative. And hello we have the Renaissance period! So if we can automate what should be automated, then humans can spend time exploring, researching, creating and building. With that refocus, then we can see that not all AI is community killing. Just a rebrand of how to approach AI and how we can use it for good, not evil, unlike T-800 or Skynet, thankyouverymuch!
It was the perfect plug!!
I’m inclined to agree with Ben R.! People don’t come to the community for AI interactions.

HOWEVER, I do think AI is going to be huge for community ops (managing event registrations, answering support questions, combining product feedbacks that are similar, etc.)
