Tightknit Release Notes (July 8, 2026)
⚙️ All the Admin Settings have Landed in the Studio
Up to now there have been some painful gaps in terms of administrative settings where some things existed only in the Slack app and not in the Studio, forcing admins to jump between the two in order to manage their community. No longer! 🙌 We have now ported all the existing settings and functionality! Everything you used to manage from the Slack admin console now has a home in Studio. The Studio is now your one stop shop for managing settings and content for your Tightknit workspace and community, including feeds, events, awards, and journeys, onboarding, Slack settings, site settings, and more! Where does this leave the Slack app going forward? The Slack app home will continue to have a limited set of admin settings and quick actions. For example, you will be able to create a new Event from within Slack, but may have limited configuration options compared to the full creation wizard experience you would get from the Studio. In general, we recommend moving your admin operations into the Studio unless you just need something simple and fast.
Note: We do not yet support roles and permissions for non-admin Studio users for the new pages. Stay tuned!
🛠️ Improvements and Fixes Studio
Search page - Similar to search within the companion site, the Studio now supports search across posts, comments, and content resources in the community; however results in Studio are shown regardless of visibility and site publish state. Click the "Search Studio" search input in the sidebar, or use ⌘Cmd+K to begin. Closed remaining Studio and Slack admin gaps - New Studio settings sections and sub-sections bring settings that were previously Slack-only into Studio.
"What's New" changelog inside the help modal - The Studio help modal now has a slideout panel showing recent product updates, right from the app.
Fixed annoyingly persistent reinstallation reminder banner - Fixed bug where the out-of-date banner reminder for new Slack app versions would stick around despite reinstallation. The app now checks for reinstallation once the user returns focus back to the tab.
Companion Forums Site
Fixed embed dialog dropdowns - Fixed bug where the Sort, Format, and Date Filter dropdowns in the feed and event embed dialogs were sometimes not rendering.
Fixed duplicate titles for block-based messages - For Slack blocks-based messages synced to the companion site, we now detect if the message contains a duplicative title block in the first two blocks of the body, and if so, we hide it. Only the post's title (assigned by Tightknit) is shown.
Fixed Subscribe button on non-authenticated sites - Fixed bug where "Subscribe" button would appear on Feed pages for sites that don't allow logins.
Slack
Redesigned event announcement layout - Event announcements in Slack channels now use a cleaner container-based layout.
⚠️ Deprecated: community-level event reminders toggle - The old global toggle for Event reminders is now deprecated, superseded by per-event reminders.
