I'm interested in creating an event on our Tightknit companion site that's open to both people in the community and outside of it. Is this something that others would be interested in as a product feature?
I like this idea. So Liz H. just to better understand it:
Would the event be running through us or would there be an external registration system? (I know Salesforce has so manyβSplash, Bevy, etc.)
For those that sign up on the companion site, would you want them to get an email or something asking them to join the community? Or is that a separate ask?
I think ideally we run registration on Tightknit too so there's not multiple pages. And yes! Our confirmation email for the event would include an invite to the community too
The scenario I'm envisioning is we have email campaigns running where we're inviting people to join the community and then the next nurture email is inviting them to a virtual event to learn more/dig in on a topic. Rather than running the virtual event separately, I'd love for the event to be in Tightknit so it's the same experience community members get for other events
That's what I thought, very cool! Any thoughts on video call? We have some interesting ideas on this space but wanted to see if Zoom was already your plan
Awesome, look forward to hearing. I think for our community, we'd run the video call on Google Meet (likely a smaller group for these virtual events - >20 attendees) and Google Meet is usually our standard for meetings
Google Meet "works" but I will add it will be really hard to get the approvals you need to get access to your team's Google API. Google Meet is just not as mature in this space.
We are also a Google shop but we have one Zoom license strictly for hosting events.
