Delay Onboarding DMs for New Members to Enhance Personalization

*Feedback:* Is there a way to delay the onboarding DM for new members that are joining? I tested this with my personal email and noticed the DM was immediately visible after joining. *Use case/pain point:* I think this makes the onboarding message seem less personal and obviously automated. When I was using a previous integration, we had the ability to delay the DM by a certain number of minutes/hours. Ideally I'd like it to come through ~30 minutes to an hour after a new member joins. I'm not sure if this is related, but since setting up the onboarding message through Tightknit, I've noticed a decrease in new members introducing themselves in our community. One of the calls-to-action in the onboarding DM is to introduce themselves.

I think 1 day at the most, yeah. Ideally I'd keep the message to the same day.

Just a note for those that have asked for this stuff before, this would be setting the foundation for MULTIPLE onboarding messages (aka a sequence)

💡 That would be even better actually! I'd love a sequence of onboarding messages to help guide people through the experience. In that case, I think the delay max (when thinking about an onboarding sequence) would be 30 days for me, but curious to hear what others think here.

Actually one more thing I'll add to the onboarding sequence feedback– It would be awesome to be able to send DMs from multiple teammates during the onboarding flow. Say for example I want the first DM to come from me, and then our CEO, and maybe someone from out product team, etc

Semi-related to this request– It would be amazing if Tightknit had a workflow-ish onboarding to capture new members that don't introduce themselves within X number of days, for example. So it could be something like: New member created -> Wait 30 minutes -> Send onboarding welcome message -> If they post a message in #intros within 3 days / then send onboarding message number 2 OR New member created Wait 30 minutes -> Send onboarding welcome message -> No message in #intros for 3 days -> Send onboarding message 2a Hopefully this makes sense!

Oh I like that. Essentially, conditional statements. Also, do we like the name workflows or sequences? I’m debating what makes sense for our language.

Yep, exactly! Either name makes sense to me. "Workflow" feels like a common feature name these days and if I hear this, I have a good idea of what it will do. Sequence also makes sense to me too.
