hey team/ Stephen C. when clicking "send to site" the new posted recap says posted 2 days ago ( instead of saying it was just posted) and it doesnt show the video preview player the same way the slack does ( as shown in the screenshot) what is the best way to get the preview to show natively? at this point in the event im no longer interested in showing what the event is about but rather show the community there is a recap/preview available & keep them in the community instead of linking them out (aka clicking view recording) ( also when creating the recap it asks for a new description but then doesn't show the new description given?"
You're looking at two different things in your screenshot:
On the left is the original Event Announcement post, in your home feed. Feeds only show posts right now, not comments.
On the right is a reply/comment on the original Event Announcement. As mentioned earlier, we have the limitation that Tightknit bot posts must be manually synced using the Post to Site shortcut. It should then appear on the post's page as a comment (but won't be in feeds because it is not a post).
We have a ticket on our backlog to support posting the recap as a separate post in the same or different channel, which would likely give the effect you're going for.
ah yes i did not realize that comments werent equal to recaps
makes sense so posting to site would only repost the original event
In terms of what appears in feeds, yes. But on the event detail page, it'll show recap information too.
now how do i delete this latest post on my companion without deleting the recap i just posted Stephen C.
since i clicked "send to site" its in the main feed but when i click "announcements" its not there since it was from days ago but theres no toggle to delete
Sorry I dont think I follow. What's the end state you're going for?
i clicked sync to site on an event thats already done ( on the left) it was posted, the recap gets uploaded as a comment, what is the proper way to delete the posting on the companion( left side of my screen) but keep the recap comment Stephen C.
since i just did that action, the event is at the top of my community, id like to remove it from the companion feed without deleting the event
A comment cannot exist without a parent feed. Currently if you delete/remove the post the comment goes with it.
understood, so today no way to remove it after clicking sync to site. got it
You may remove it from the site either by deleting the message itself from within Slack, or by using the "Manage Content" shortcut and un-publishing it.
However, keep in mind that will remove the whole thread (Post+Comment) from the site.
You cannot keep only the recap as of now
