publishing events to microsite vs channel let's say i want to publish two events. id like to get them up on the microsite so that theyre there and we have a place to direct folks. but in slack, we want the event to post in channel at a time that works best for us, is this possible? i ask because when publishing events, we wouldnt want to publish two event posts right after each other; ideally we want each slack message post to have its time. is it possible to self-serve a "post event to channel" trigger at a time we want, while also having the event published on the microsite?
Hey Jacob! This is totally possible! When you publish an event, the Slack channel announcement fires immediately if you've selected a channel to announce in. But the channel selection is optional, so you can just publish the event to the microsite with no channel selected, and nothing posts to Slack. ๐ It just sits live on your site as a place to direct people. Then, whenever you're ready for the Slack post to go out, you edit the event and add the channel. Adding a channel to an already-published event will then post the announcement to that channel at that moment!
Natasha K. I've tried this out for our most recent event! Can we schedule the announcement post, too? ๐ง
