Understanding Public vs. Private Settings on the Companion Site

Hi Community, what is the difference between public / private in the general settings of the companion site? 👀 Does "public" mean that anyone with the link to the companion site will be able to view the content? Does "private" mean that no one will be able to view the companion site, except those who have previously joined the Slack space e.g. vie invite link?

Hey Melissa! I think your definition of Public is correct. For Private, that means the companion site will only be viewable by members of your Slack community — it’s still in Beta, but that is the current behavior. Let me know if that clears things up for you?

OK great, thank you Zach H.! 🙏 For private, ok that makes sense! So only members that have been invited via link will be able to view the site after joining. Before that they won't be able to view the site.

Exactly. We’re working on hybrid sites, but they’ve not been delivered yet. These future hybrid experiences would block certain channels and sections individually.
