Hiiii
Has anyone setup a a virtual event in a TightKnit that doesn’t have a video component (or registration page) but is hosted entirely within a slack channel?
For context, I am hosting an ask me anything in November in a slack channel where members will ask questions using a slack workflow and the featured speaker will respond in the comments during the event time.
I’m wanting to setup as an event in TightKnit but curious if anyone else has done this and what you used for the event location etc.
Have you tried adding the channel hashtag to the location field for the event? Alternately you could use a Slack URL to the workspace and channel. Those follow this syntax: app.slack.com/client/(workspace id)/(channel id) For example in Tightknit’s community the workspace ID would be T063P42R30S and the channel ID for 🔒[private feed] would be C07AHD5HMB9 So the URL would be: https://app.slack.com/client/T063P42R30S/C07AHD5HMB9 Here’s how you locate the workspace ID in your web browser:https://slack.com/help/articles/221769328-Locate-your-Slack-URL-or-ID and you can find the channel ID in the channel by clicking on the channel name to see the channel details (ID is at the bottom of that modal)
We have done this! Liz H. recently ran an AMA inside of Slack with this approach. You'll want to follow what Scott is mentioning although it's even better if you use native deeplinking so that it better supports mobile:
slack://channel?team={TEAM_ID}&id={CHANNEL_ID}
You can read more about that here: https://docs.slack.dev/interactivity/deep-linking/#open_a_channel

Thanks all! I haven’t set it up yet Scott B. was trying to get the research going to make sure I set it up in the best way!
