Anyone have any great ideas or resources around SLAs and community volunteer positions/leadership? Feel free to DM me as well!
And SLAs = Service Level Agreements, usually done with contractors, vendor partners, etc--basically any other arrangement than a directly hourly charged rate or salary. So, was thinking this could also be an area to mine when talking about volunteer skilled work, nonprofit skilled work. Zach H. have I made sense there?
I think you make sense! Iβd be interested in what others think. Iβll tag a few folks tomorrow if no one jumps in
Love that, thanks Zach H. -- I know too you're an admin for the greater Slack community in NY, have I got that right? I might be slightly slippery with the context, and I want to get that correct for you--I do know you are in trusted positions as a community member around a lot of communities...where should I be looking for more conversations about this? Would volunteer orgs call it something other than SLAs? Totally motivated & flexible to go find more out, I'm sensing that I'm not the first to ask this.
We created a "job posting" and allowed folks to apply for it. Held "conversations" not interviews, and then chose folks to fill the roles.
Jennifer Y., hereβs a link to my calendar. If youβre intersted, Iβd be happy to chat with you about this. I haveβ¦a LOT of experience here, having managed community volunteer & leadership programs for over 15 years. I even wrote my Masters thesis on the subject!
Kaela A. Wonderful! Reaching out now!
And Nikki T. thank you! Iβll message youβIβm sure youβll have amazing context! β€οΈ π
Ok coming back here to say Kaela A. Is Incredible ποΈ π ποΈ and that was a wow conversation in context and confirmation. Iβve got better context on what to look for now to share back with leaders in my own community. And, Nikki T. I still totally want to talk with you! I may have someone else I want to connect you with that Iβve met in professional community too. π
