workflow buttons missing from companion site would love to know the limitations (if any) when a workflow message posts to a channel and has button CTAs? We're not seeing the button render on the companion site. Thoughts? https://community.vanta.com/x/grc/j412nnzp0jjk/vanta-community-networking
Hardest part is that there is no "user" that would be clicking the button so we technically will break anything you have working inside of Slack workflows. Realistically we would need to build our own API webhook for this so that you could control this separately. Jacob G. would you be able to share a screenshot of what this message looks like in Slack? Stephen C. I wonder if we have a little "warning" if a workflow is attached that "Workflows only work in Slack" and then when a user clicks it, it pops up a modal with the Slack permalink.
thanks, zach, that def makes sense. any sort of tooltip or warning would get my vote! perhaps even a motivator to get them in too.
May I interrupt this thread to please ask if you would mind sharing the export of this workflow? 😅 it looks like one that be superful useful for me to replicate
but of course, Cheyenne R.! for context, if someone clicks that (multi-click) button in the parent message, the thread mentions them as someone being interested, which then shows a single-click button for someone to choose them as a person to network with. anyway youll see that when you import; wanted to share for folsk here who are curious.
THANK YOU
Jacob G. do you have a separate workflow for your own tracking or is there anything you use/do to track?
hey Cheyenne R.! thanks for the q. are you asking about tracking who is expressing interest and also who is meeting up with who? if so, nope! this is purely user-led/self-serve. But lmk if im not answering your Q and i can share more if needed!
That is it! I want to make this into a contest for the first month to get people to use it. I just added in an option for them to click a button when it's done and it drops another message into the thread and says X and X have connected, tell us one takeaway below so that we can see how it's going and create a milestone/award for them based on this
Jacob G., this networking workflow is live and I have 5 people in our humble community that have said they are ready to network. Curious, how did you get folks to know to hit the 'I want to meet' button? Haven't had any of those yet. Did you DM a few people and recommend they select the 'i'm ready to meet?' or did you add an additional comm about it?
hey Cheyenne R.! congrats on getting it launched, love to see it. I actually just let it be and allow for it to organically take place. here a screenshot. a member clicked the button that was there (I want to meet). the hope here was that the button in the parent message would be motivating enough to click, which then forced the convo into the thread. so far ive seen it to be working! as far as i can tell, at least. it's on the owner of who wanted to network in the first place, to proactively reach out to the person who clicked the 'i want to meet' button. lmk if that helps! although DMing folks isnt a bad idea to get thing started; or even sharing a reminder a few days after the fact.
Great! Hopefully that happens for us, but I may still DM a few folks, encouraging them to click "I want to meet" in the thread, since that piece isn't happening yet. I did add a reminder and for the first person who clicked "I'm ready to network" for them to tell the workflow when they completed it, so that it encourages them to share how it went in the thread. It was the only thing I could think of to make the tightknit milestone work for this journey I created for this. Thanks for this!!!
