hey team nice to meet everyone, how can i post/iframe in another website or a way to display courses in the courses area on slack? I believe there is a way We can either -Iframe in another custom course website/HTML we design(This is what we want to do) i was also hoping you could help me find a creative way to post Youtube videos (could we create a Canvas AKA a slack page and then create organized arrangements of Youtube vids?)
Hey Eli, to embed a page into the site,
Go to the Tightknit Slack app
Find Navigation under Companion Site
Put in the following: Your Page Title | example.com | the-url-slug
That should allow you to embed the webpage
As for your question on YouTube videos, you can use our existing Events framework to upload old videos of events to allow them to show up on the events page in the past as recordings. Check out this as an example https://community.gamma.app/events?events_list.view=past
that is a link to an outside site, I want to be able to embed a site in an iframe onto the tightknit site it self or display things like a course, where its all there all at once
Stephen C. is this a possibility?
Yes you can embed an external page within your site using the feature described here: https://docs.tightknit.ai/companion-site/navigation#internal-link-embedded-page
the following configuration will create a navigation item with the label “Terms of Service” that will open the embedded page at the URL: https://<your-site>/p/terms-of-service. This page will contain an embedded iframe with the contents of the URL https://example.com.
the user will be able to interact with the course in slack without opening a new web page?
Oh, sorry, I didn't read the part on slack! I thought you meant on the companion site. So you are asking if it is possible to embed external web pages within Slack itself? No, that is not possible.
It sounds like you want a Slack-native Learning Management System (LMS). Correct me if I'm wrong. Tightknit doesn't offer a LMS solution at the moment, but we have discussed this as a possibility.
so courses in slack wouldnt be possible, what about for youtube videos it would also be an external site?
can i embed a webpage to lead to a youtube video? Stephen C.
Could you tell me more about where exactly in Slack you want to embed these videos?
the goal of the community is to get everyone in and watching the courses on how to best use the product but sending them to a bunch of different places can confuse people
pinned under courses then have a bunch of different courses
And this collection of youtube videos will grow over time?
