Tightknit Release Notes: New Directory Experience Beta and Updates (June 26, 2024)

Tightknit Release Notes (June 26, 2024) New Directory Experience [Beta] We've refreshed the Directory page experience on the companion site in order to better highlight members of your community. The page now displays previews of Tightknit user Groups. The previews link to the full directory display for all members in the Group. The new experience is currently in Beta, and we'll be rolling it out in the coming weeks. Please let us know if you're interested in receiving access early! Updates:

  • Removed duplicative Call-to-Action button inside the info section of the Home page

  • Moved event action buttons above the description (as it can be long) for event announcements

  • When a user clicks the registration button on an event announcement, we also send an ephemeral message (aka private notification) in that channel. The ephemeral message contains a button to un-register, if applicable.

  • New member notifications to the Tightknit Hub channel now include a link to Slack's user management page

  • OG images for the Feed and Home pages will only show the banner image, if one is present. fyi2 This works well for Slack link previews, but unfortunately not for LinkedIn link previews, which will attempt to maximize the image. We have a fully custom OG image upload coming soon!

Fixes:

  • Fixed incorrect link to reactions on comments in the user profile feed

Good updates and fixes. Can you share an example of the ephemeral message? One thought, the CTA to join the community might be better in another colour vs. with a white background.

Scott B. We are thinking the CTA button color would be defined by the Brand Color input in the future.

And here is an example of the ephemeral message after registering

Might be a bit problematic if the registration takes place on another place (like our events do with reg via Hubspot). They actually won't be added until they actually register via that form.

That’s a good point. So maybe the language here needs to change to

Thanks for your interest in: <Event Name>

I just published a new event and not seeing the new button placement. The event was from a prior draft I had saved.

I see the button above the description here Scott B.. This was the intended fix. Let us know if you expected something different

All good! Well I have even more good news for you. Stephen C. was smart! If you use an external registration link then the ephemeral message is already: 📅 Thanks for your interest in the event: ${event title}. Check out more details at <${event link}>.
