Exploring Multi-Question Surveys: Input Needed from the Community

I think it would be great to have the capability to do multi question/format surveys perhaps? Would love to know if others would like that or what they are doing to send out and get responses to surveys. Right now we're using google forms and posting/ sharing it with folks in the community through newsletter emails and posting on slack channels. CC Jan Y. Jennifer Y.

Out of curiosity, what do you find about Google Forms that isn't working for you?

Google forms do not look great, when someone fills it out you get any email that can go to any folder - social, update, promotions, so it's easy to miss, if you want people to get the link to the slack channel it doesn't always work as expected so it's easy for them to miss, limited functionality, it's not dynamic and has no AI capabilities... That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure I could come up with others.

Thanks Jan Y., those details are helpful. Personally I don't like Google Forms either for similar reasons, but I am a big fan of:

Fillout
2.
Tally
Both options are affordable, configurable, and branding baked into the product. Do people feel that filling out a form inside of Slack is a better experience? I could see 1-2 questions being nice, but once you get to 4+ questions, I feel like I would miss my 1Password autofill. We have considered forms before but I am exploring if we want a Slack forms product or if there are better alternatives already out there.

I would love it if 1Password would work that well for me... I'm thinking of a couple of different use cases. I'll look into Fillout and Tally. In some cases it would be nice if it worked inside of Slack, or alerted us in slack when someone filled out a form, but mostly we need to use it outside of slack. I'll probably just build something for some of my use cases...

Slack form product would be really helpful! Right now for onboarding into Slack we get people to fill out a google form linked on our website and then once they hit submit, the link to slack is shared. Sometime people miss that completely. We also have a discrepancy of members on our LinkedIn group and also on Luma/ attend events but are not part of the Slack community and would love a way to get them to join the slack community.

Ash R. I figured out a way you can recreate (as optional) the intake form you have probably attached to Hubspot on the website, to convert people in the event invite. I did conditional stuff, so it wouldn't impede going to the event, it takes advantage of many autocomplete features. I tested it for an event and it was 100% conversion to membership and to slack of all attendees. Actually, there were MORE who converted than were actually able to be at the physical event!

And, it's almost automated, if you're using unpaid Luma. Automated if on pro version of Luma.

Ooh—def Ash R. I'm following this thread. Sigh… Stephen C. is there a model I can sort of easily manuever yet for vibe coding my own slack app? I've only held off because it didn't look like anything existed yet. But then again we are now living in the age of OpenClaw, so I thought I'd ask. 😅

Jan Y. what I did should work np with your setup. I've got Dex personally, and I'd like see if I should have it linked into the new slack I'm setting up. I tried finding the example I talked about, but eh, it's using Zapier right now, and I'm thinking it's about time I didn't have to deal with Zapier. Honestly, no one really should have to. Stephen C. any ideas about it being easier to connect CRMs, etc without clunky middleware like Zapier (so more make.com or N8N)…OR, considering we're in a post OpenClaw world now, maybe without needed those middleware products at all? And still having it be secure, and working properly?

Hey Jan Y.! Sorry, just seeing old notifications. I’m getting some updates from Kevin the CEO at Dex, plus experimenting with how I could use a Claude MCP to watch a slack community for me and give me updates. I also got a tutorial that was usable from Matt Wolfe on YouTube to use Obsidian and Claude or Codex (OpenAI) if you don't want to have a Dex subscription. And, I still have a repository of apps on slack for communities, happy to share a link or doc.
