π‘Product Ideas - For related discussions and the companion site - Problem: People donβt always share messages in the right channels.
It would be great to be able to turn the feature on and select if we want the related discussions to be channel agnostic or channel exclusive.
Problem: right now, itβs difficult for members to use and get value out of the the related discussions 2. I would prefer the related discussion links to be to the thread in slack not the companion site.
But if it has to be the companion site, I'd like a link to the thread on the companion site for the member to easily jump into an old thread and continue the discussion.
Right now, since we have a login required, the user has to click the link login, then click the link again (because it doesn't take you straight to the thread the first time, so I imagine most are just clicking out of it and not doing the second click..) but if they are clicking again then they would have to search for that thread if they wanted to add to it.
Problem: while it solves the problem of keeping our info secure, the added step of the companion site login likely causes friction for being actively used and also doesnβt work for our customers who arent using Slack. 3. Lastly, if would prob work better for us to have our site to not have a login if we could have it be unlisted so that it doesnt' show up in SEO.

I get exactly what you're saying here. I also don't think this would be that hard for us either if I'm understanding it properly! Creating a ticket now.

We used to have this but it was much more clunky. We could consider bringing it back. For Stephen C. maybe we move the AI titles to its own object so that both the post and the Slack message can reference it 1-1.

Cheyenne R. this is actually possible today! You can find this option under Companion Site > General
Zach H. and Stephen C. this thread sparked an idea for me, around being able to mine the companion site for content to embed on the website, or publish on the websiteβ¦I'll have a think on this for what that could look like. π
